Good for her, sad for us.  Jesse Petersen announced that she will be moving out of state because of her husband's job transfer.  Jesse has had a huge positive impact on our chapter and will be sorely missed.  Keep in touch, Jesse.  We'll be first in line when you become published!  (2/02)

UK Release and Honors!  Jane Porter's IN DANTE'S DEBT was released in February in the UK.  It also hit UK's Booktrack Hot 100 Index at #79!  IN DANTE'S DEBT will be released in March in Australia and January 2003 in the US.  Congratulations Jane!  We look forward to reading it!  (2/02)
Radio Show!  Darcy Carson recently received a call from a producer asking if she'd be willing to put her Romance Review show on live radio.  This is the same as the Internet show she did in the past where she interviewed romance authors.  Keep us posted Darcy!  (2/02)

Hardcover!  Five Star Original Romance will be releasing Melinda Rucker Haynes's paranormal, THE ETERNAL TRUST, as a hardcover in June 2002 as a second lead title .  Way to go, Melinda!  (1/02)
Moving into the Japanese Market!  Jane Porter has announced that Harlequin Japan will be featuring her in their April newsletter and publishing her first three books for three consecutive months.  For those who have never seen them, in Japan Harlequins are issued as 'comic books'.  We dying to see them, Jane!  Congratulations!  (1/02)
Proposals! Susan Browne is currently in the process of sending out proposals for her second novel, DREAMS OF BALLYDARA, to agents.  Good luck, Susan.  We're rooting for you! 
Now in Paperback! In February 2002 the long-awaited paperback of Stella Cameron's FINDING IAN comes out and in March, THE ORPHAN, Book #4 in the Mayfair Square Series will be released.  Way to go Stella! 
Almost Finished! Stella Cameron is buried in deep, dark deadline hell, but she is writing the last chapter of COLD DAY IN JULY.  She says that's the good news, on the flip side, revision comes next...

Another Complete!  Kim Waltemeyer at Berkley is currently reviewing Susan Browne's first novel, HOME TO BALLYDARA.  We'll keep our fingers crossed for you!

Two More Books!  Pat Pritchard recently sold two more books to Kensington for their Ballad Historical line.  Can't wait to read them!
Yet another request!  Besides her luck with the above mentioned manuscript, Jesse Petersen has also had wonderful luck with HER SILENT HEART.  The full manuscript has been requested by Karen Kosztolniyk, Senior Editor at Warner Books.  You're on a roll, Jesse!  
THE CALL!  Deborah Schneider was chosen as one of three finalists in RT's New Historical Voice Contest.  Only the first place winner was promised a book contract, but second place Debbie also received a book contract.  They know talent when they see it!  Her book, BENEATH A SILVER MOON, is scheduled for release September 2002.
Partial request!  Dorchester requested a partial of Rohn Federbush's historical COURTSHIP'S TOLL.  Good luck Rohn!
Contest Finalist!  Rohn Federbush was a finalist in the Paranormal category of The Heart of the West RWA contest.  Way to go, Rohn!
Bestseller!  Jane Porter's CHRISTOS'S PROMISE hit #3 on Waldenbooks Bestseller List for Series Romance in October and stayed there for two weeks!  Congratulations, Jane!
UK Bestseller!  Jane Porter's THE SHEIKH'S WIFE hit #77 on the UK's Booktrack Hit 100 list.  THE SHEIKH'S WIFE will be released in the US in May 2002.  Looking forward to reading it, Jane!
Keepers!  Three of our published authors won the Emerald City Keeper Award:  Nadine Miller for Best Regency with THE YORKSHIRE LADY, Pam Binder for Best Paranormal with THE ENCHANTMENT, and Jane Porter for Best Short Contemporary with THE ITALIAN GROOM.  Congratulations Ladies!
Double Winner!  Our own Gerri Russell placed 1st in the Paranormal category of the Emerald City Opener contest and 3rd in the Historical category.  Good job Gerri!
